Fantastic Start to the Season for Medway Towns Juniors at Lea Regatta!

On Sunday, 27 April, our junior squad proudly represented Medway Towns Rowing Club at the Lea Spring Regatta – marking the first summer regatta of the year, and for many, their very first racing experience.

Our juniors showed incredible determination, teamwork, and spirit throughout the day. Most of our crews progressed through to their finals, with many narrowly missing out on wins by the closest of margins. A special mention goes to our youngest competitors, the J13 girls, who bravely raced a year up in the J14 category – a fantastic achievement and a sign of great things to come.

The regatta offered valuable experience: racing from stake boat starts, steering challenging courses, and competing against strong fields. Despite the very hot conditions and a long day of racing, every junior gave it their all, making coaches, volunteers, and parents incredibly proud.

Huge thanks to all the coaches, volunteers, and supportive parents who made the day possible – we couldn’t do it without you.

Congratulations once again to all our juniors. You were outstanding, and we are excited to see all the continued progress and success in the season ahead!
