Medway Towns Rowing Club Makes Debut at the Junior Inter-Regional Regatta

We are delighted to announce a major milestone for Medway Towns Rowing Club: for the first time ever, one of our members proudly represented us at the Junior Inter-Regional Regatta (JIRR) 2025 at the National Water Sports Centre in Nottingham.

Harriet - MTRC (J16) raced in the Junior 16 girls 8+, competing as part of the Thames South East region. MTRC was in the boat alongside athletes from Canterbury Kings, and Maidstone Rowing Club, proudly representing the strength of rowing in our region. Out of 14 fiercely competitive regions, Thames South East finished just three points away from the next position up — a fantastic result given that the team was put together at the very last minute with no chance to train together beforehand.

Despite the challenge, Harriet and the crew showed incredible resilience and spirit. Their performance highlights the growing strength of our club and marks the start of a bright future for Medway Towns Rowing Club on the national stage.
