Medway Towns Rowing Club was formed in 1958 as an amalgamation between Medway Rowing Club (established in 1865) and the club then known as Chatham and Gillingham Rowing Club (established in 1869). The club takes its establishment year of 1865 from Medway Rowing Club as it was the older of the two clubs.

Local Interest - Historical

Above - Rochester Castle in the early 1830's, a scene not quite as we know it today.

Above
Two widely differing views from the late 18th century of the "old" Medieval Rochester Bridge which was
demolished by the Royal Engineers in 1856.
Did Rochester really look like this and what would Rochester give now to have the "Old" bridge back?
